Group of Two Chinese Marble Scholar Art Objects, Early 20th Century

An unusual marble brush holder together with brush washer. Brush holder has been cut in cylindrical form with various color veins, while the brush washer is a compressed globular form. It has a well-hollowed interior, and simple body design.

Both items are in excellent condition except for a few tiny age chips around the brush holder bottom.

Both are rarely seen items. Originally found in Shanxi Province.

Brush washer dates around mid to late 19th Century and the holder probably early to mid 20th century.
