A Set of 'Wei Qi' with Original Wooden Boxes, Late 19th Century

A complete set of Chinese 'Wei Qi' with original elm wood boxes.
 
'Wei Qi', or the more well known name 'Go' from the Japanese, is an ancient board game that originated from China.
 
The game is played with two players who alternately place round black and white chess pieces on the empty points on the grid. White chess pieces are made from mother of pearl;164 pieces. Black chess pieces are made from stone;163 pieces.
 
Pieces are often lost. It is rare to find a complete chess set.
 
Excellent condition with some normal wear with age.
