Cypress Wood (Baimu) Tray, Mid-Late 19th Century
This elegant tray has sharply defined corners reinforced with brass corner mounts, with a subtle grooved rim, and four low feet. The long side waists are decorated with two carved raised “ruyi” pattern, while the short sides have a single “ruyi” pattern.
There are two Chinese characters “Zheng Ji” on the bottom; this is a company name, and probably the owner of this tray.
Apart from an old repair in the center panel, this tray is in excellent condition and has great patina.
