A Small Stone Vessel, Late 18th Century
A small stone vessel of heavy form, the rounded sides encircled by a band of upturned lotus petals above a broad undecorated convex band above a wide flat base, the upper edge of the vessel decorated with large round bosses set at close intervals, the mouth rim with a thick rounded lip. It is unclear whether this object was used as planter or, perhaps, had an architectural function as the base of a small pillar.
Good condition with some age marks, and minor chips.
